This development of 23 dwellings for affordable rent was constructed across a former refuse pit. Major earthwork recyling works began by reducing the site level by over three meters before segregating material and re-compacting to form the foundation to build upon.
Working closely with the local community was key to the success of this project given the proximity of neighbouring dwellings and the throughfares which remained open throughout the construction period.
Thin-joint blockwork masonry construction was adopted with insulated trussed roofs and high efficient heating to reduce the running costs of these dwellings.
