This re-development of a former 1960's grain silo into 22 new affordable flats demonstrates our ability in complex construction projects.
Working in partnership with the Flagship Group, their maintenance department were engaged with at an early stage in the project so that future management issues could be designed out.
Particular attention was given to the re-cladding of the external facade
The development was visited by the Shadow Housing Minister who commented 'I was extremely impressed with vision and ingenuity that Wellington and Flagship have show in converting this landmark building. It presents a very good example of how a housing association and a construction company can work together to enable 1st time buyers to get a foot on the housing ladder.' (Press release appended).
Mention of the building was also made by the Audit Commission in their re-inspection report of April 2009. (Reference appended) The site manger received an NHBC 'Pride in the Job' award.
